Xantrex- XW Conduit Box
Product Information

The XW Conduit Box mounts directly to the bottom of an inverter/charger to safely protect end-users from inadvertent contact with wiring or connections. It comes bundled with the XW Power Distribution Panel and the XW Connection Kit; however, it is also is available separately for systems larger than two inverters, or to retrofit inverters into existing systems which may already have AC/DC disconnects.

The Conduit Box is easily secured with two screws provided on the bottom of the inverter. The bottom flange of the conduit box can then be attached (fasteners not provided) to the wall to complete the installation. The front panel of the conduit box can be removed by removing the two screws on the front, allowing ample space to make all necessary wire connections.

In multi-unit installations, the sides of adjacent conduit boxes can be removed to create an effective raceway with lots of volume to run AC and DC inverter cabling. The conduit box also includes multiple cable strap points, allowing the final installation to look clean and professional.

In addition, an internal sheet metal barrier is included to keep communications wires separate from AC and DC power wires.

Description

Xantrex makes DC input safety a simple matter with their complete line of DC disconnects and breakers. The high amperage DC breaker is housed within a powder coated enclosure with conduit knockouts for SW and DR series inverter connection. Our DC disconnects are simple to install and meet all electrical code requirements for appropriate circuit protection.

DC disconnects are expandable, allowing an additional 175 or 250 amp inverter breaker to be installed for dual inverter installations. DC input/output breakers for PV, charge controllers, or DC loads can also be filed installed in a DC175 or DC250.

SunMizer DC Power Optimizer

SunMizer™ is a new per-panel DC-to-DC power optimizer that performs MPP tracking at the panel substring level to increase power harvest. SunMizer achieves maximum power flow from the panel during sub-optimal module operating conditions caused by shade and soiling to recover over 50% of system level power loss.

SunMizer's patent pending Optimum I-V for PV™ technology combines simple design with the fewest, most robust power components available. The result is best in class reliability and performance in the most effective efficiency improvement solution available for PV.

Improved Roof Utilization and Aesthetics

With SunMizer, the system designer can now install more panels and increase system power production. Panels can now be placed on roof space that would not have been utilized in the past because panels in these areas would actually decrease system output. In addition, SunMizer optimized panels can be installed in locations to match the roofline, avoiding odd shapes and cut-outs. This makes for a more attractive and aesthetically pleasing solar array. More power with an attractive system, a win-win for the system owner and the designer.

Selective Installation

"Selective Installation" gives SunMizer a unique advantage over competing DC/DC power optimizers that require a unit on each panel in a string. SunMizer can be installed selectively, only on the solar panels that experience regular shade or soiling. Selective installation provides optimized power output at a lower initial cost and that means faster return on investment for the system owner.
Compatibility and Installation
SunMizer is lightweight (< 2 kg) and its compact dimensions of 6" x 4" x 1.6" (15 x 10 x 4 cm) make it easy to install directly to panel racking with standard rack system fasteners and nuts. Each unit has an integral grounding lug that also accepts a ring terminal connection. SunMizer is connected in-line with PV panels using standard series wiring schemes and does not require specialized wiring or "add-on" equipment.
SunMizer is currently compatible with many rack systems including;

SunMizer is compatible with a large list of 156mm cell architecture models from most major panel manufacturers worldwide. Panels with a maximum power rating of 250W (Pmax), 48V (VOC), and 9A (ISC) OR350W (Pmax), 80V (VOC), and 7A (ISC) can be used with SunMizer. SunMizer is compatible with most 208V and 240V residential size inverters.

Built to Last

SunMizer is designed to last the lifetime of any solar installation and built with the finest long-life components and materials. A weatherproof NEMA 6 (IP 67) enclosure ensures that the unit will not be affected by dust intrusion, water or ice. Each unit is covered by a 20 year warranty that includes a replacement labor provision.
